The theme of anti-bullying week 2020 is “United Against Bullying”. This assembly looks at discrimination and bullying, actions we can take to prevent bullying, character education and how positive outcomes can be achieved when we unite together. Slide 11 has been left blank for you to include initiatives your school has done to unite together in achieving a positive goal. There are some notes under some slides.

This assembly looks at the theme “Change starts with us”. It encourages students to reflect on how certain behaviour choices can contribute to hurting people. It also promotes the idea that if we all make some changes, we will all benefit, supporting this years anti-bullying theme. Key ideas include how we can change the impact of social media, verbal and physical choices we make and how being non-judgemental will lead to happier lives. The key messages are about making the right choices and how if we all make changes, we can all enjoy a more positive life. There are some additional notes at the bottom of some of the slides.

This assembly focuses on the importance of having a positive body image. The assembly looks at how positive words and attitudes are important for ensuring that we have positive emotional wellbeing. The assembly also focuses on: Not judging people; Accepting and celebrating; Social media; Unkind words; Media comparisons Low self-esteem. It starts with four questions for students to privately reflect on and finishes with the same four questions where we will guide students in terms of a response.

This assembly promotes reflection about how our conduct can impact upon the atmosphere and ethos created within school. There is a slide on respect, why we should look after each other, achieving our best, enjoying ourselves and following our rules, The final slide asks for students to reflect upon personal behaviour.

This assembly is primarily aimed at Year 10 and 11. The assembly looks at how stress can be managed in the run up to exams and offers some advice in terms of things to do to be prepared for this stressful time.

This homework assembly looks at why it is important to complete homework and how homework develops other skills like problem solving and time management.

This role of the form tutor staff CPD covers areas like: qualities required of a form tutor, safeguarding, being prepared for the day, organising your week and rewards.

This assembly looks at the theme “Choose Respect”. Key ideas include understanding that bullying is a behaviour choice, respect in general, how can disagree respectfully, what could be seen as disrespectful as well as how we can choose respect on-line, in our community, in our school and in person. Some of these slides could also be used for a RESPECT display.

This assembly looks at how a behaviour intention creates an interpretation that leaves an impression and how all are linked together. The assembly addresses specific chosen behaviours as well as looks at all three (intention, interpretation and impression) independently of each other and then together.

This assembly focuses on promoting positive mental health through encouraging people to accept and then address. The assembly looks at how celebrities are encouraging people to speak about mental health, the on-line support available, challenges that can encourage a more positive mindset and how highlighting is key to success.

This assembly looks at the ideas of banter and bullying, and focuses on how banter can also be bullying. The assembly looks at different behaviours, how banter via social media is wrong and how behaviour is viewed by others. The assembly poses some reflective questions for students where the person delivering can make it clear that any form of hurtful banter is wrong.

This assembly has been created where the British Values of law, democracy, individual liberty, respect and tolerance are addressed. This leads to a final slide on “Togetherness”. The assembly asks questions that can either be rhetorical where students are reflective or answered if preferred. This was previously an Advent (British Values) assembly, but I have edited it so it just looks at British Values.

This anti-bullying assembly has been created with the theme of "All Different All Equal" as a main focus. The assembly looks at some of the differences we all have, but reinforces the fact that this does not affect equality. We are all equal. The assembly asks the question as to whether we should judge differences and the impact words have on others.

This staff CPD session focuses on the importance of role modelling to ensure a positive and calm environment can be achieved. Staff will be asked some thought provoking questions where they will need to reflect upon their own practice. This CPD is about self-reflection. There are also some activities that staff will be able to work through. Resources are included.
